We created ‘The Nook&Play’ because every child deserves a story… and every family deserves the time to share it. The NOOK is that feeling of comfort – a warm, welcoming space to pause, sit together, and simply be. It’s the cafe corner where conversations flow, little hands hold big ones, and stories are shared over something warm. A place that feels calm, cosy, and like home.

Why We’re Different
Our space is built around storybook-inspired role play, not everyday setups.
Instead of just playing, children step into imaginative worlds and become part of the story — whether they’re a daring knight in a castle of royalty, a wild jungle explorer, or a little adventurer in the big blue sea. This creates deeper, more meaningful play where imagination truly comes to life.

The Café Space
Downstairs, we’ve created a café space that we truly wanted as parents ourselves — somewhere calm, welcoming, and easy, whether you’re visiting with a tiny baby or a busy toddler. There’s a thoughtfully chosen range of toys for all ages, from soft, sensory play for little ones to more engaging toys for older children, so everyone has something to enjoy.
And just as importantly, it’s a place for you too. Good coffee, delicious food, and a chance to sit down (while it’s still warm!) knowing your little ones are happily playing nearby. It’s about creating a space where families can relax, feel comfortable, and enjoy those everyday moments that matter most.
The café can also be enjoyed on its own or alongside our upstairs play space — giving you the flexibility to visit in whatever way suits your day best.

Our role play sessions are ideal for babies, toddlers, and children up to 5 years old. Each play area is designed to encourage imaginative exploration at a pace that suits younger children, with activities that help build confidence, creativity, and social skills.
Do I need to book in advance?
We strongly recommend booking online in advance using our booking system here, especially during weekends, school holidays, and busy periods. Pre-booking guarantees your space and helps us maintain a comfortable number of visitors during each session.
How long are play sessions?
Most sessions last approximately 90 minutes, giving children plenty of time to explore the role play village, move between themed areas, and enjoy free play without feeling rushed.
Can adults stay during the session?
Yes, parents and carers are required to stay on-site during play sessions. Our café seating area allows adults to relax while still keeping an eye on their little ones as they play.
